Performances begin June 20 at the Westside Theatre for the Off-Broadway premiere of Robyn Lynne Norris' #DateMe: An OkCupid Experiment. Seen in Los Angeles and Chicago, the musical comedy is the result of Norris' real-life experiment in which she created 38 “undateable” profiles on the popular dating site OkCupid.
Part improv, part immersive, and part sketch comedy, #DateMe invites all audiences to download the show app and participate in the experiment.
The show is developed with Diane Alexander and directed by Lorin Latarro (Waitress), and features lyrics by Norris, Frank Caeti, Amanda Blake Davis, and Bob Ladewig, with original music by Sam Davis.
The cast of #DateMe Off-Broadway is made up of Kaitlyn Black (Hart of Dixie), Megan Sikora (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Chris Alvarado (The Cool Kids), Jonathan Gregg (High Maintenance), Liz Wisan (Gloria: A Life), and Eric Lockley (Choir Boy).
Jillian Gottlieb and Jonathan Wagner are the understudies.
The creative team features David Arsenault (scenic design), Vanessa Leuck (costume design), Travis McHale (lighting design), Kevin Heard (sound design), Sam Hains (projection and interconnectivity designer), and Jonathan Mastro (music director). Casting is by Tara Rubin Casting.
#DateMe is produced Off-Broadway by Elizabeth Williams and Alexander with Remmel Dickinson, Benjamin Lowy, and Adrian Salpeter.
