The annual Broadway Backwards concert — featuring male singers performing songs traditionally sung by women and women singing tunes written for men — will be presented Feb. 7, 2011, at 8 PM at the Longacre Theatre on West 48th Street. Participants will be announced at a later date; tickets will go on sale later this month.
Broadway Bears XIV will be held March 6, 2011, at 7 PM at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill on West 42nd Street. The yearly event features a host of teddy bears dressed as famous Broadway characters, many autographed by the original stars who wore the original (human-sized) outfits. Ticket information will be announced at a later date.
Those unable to attend the New York auction can bid on-line. BC/EFA accepts pre-bids and prearranged phone bids the night of the auction. Previews of this year's bears will be available on the Broadway Cares website.
Tickets are currently available for the annual Gypsy of the Year competition, which will be held Dec. 6 and 7. For more information click here.
