News Dausch Will Be a Funny Girl for Lyric Stage Lyric Stage, Dallas County's only locally produced professional musical theatre company, will present the classic Jule Styne-Bob Merrill-Isobel Lennart musical Funny Girl Sept. 11-20 in the Irving Arts Center's Carpenter Performance Hall.

Cheryl Denson will direct the limited engagement with music direction by Jay Dias.

Kristin Dausch, a June 2009 graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, will head the cast as Fanny Brice with Christopher Pinnella as Nicky Arnstein, Lois Sonnier Hart as Mrs. Brice, Connie Coit as Mrs. Strakosh, Jeremy Dumont as Eddie Ryan, Mike Gallagher as Keaney and Mark Oristano as Florenz Ziegfeld.

The ensemble comprises Mikey Abrams, Lon Barrera, Jillian Brown, Ben Giddings, Carlos Gomez, Alan Hanna, Sarah Harder, Babs Ipaye, Summer Kenney, Carleen Kirksey, Jackie Lengfelder, Jason Mayfield, Joy McKay, Angela Moore, Addison Faith Reed, Alex Ross, Kristi Rowan, Brittany Vance, Jordan Vaughn, Lee Jamison Wadley, Keith Warren and Jane Willingham.

Tracy Jordan will choreograph the production with lighting design by Julie Moroney, scenic design by Bryan Wofford, costume design by Drenda Lewis and sound design by Bill Eickenloff. Margaret J. Soch is the stage manager.

Funny Girl opened at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre on March 26, 1964, starring Barbra Streisand. Its Jule Styne-Bob Merrill score includes such tunes as "Sadie, Sadie," "Don't Rain on My Parade," "I'm the Greatest Star," "The Music That Makes Me Dance," "Who Are You Now?" and the show's anthem, "People."
