David Byrne and Alex Timbers, the duo behind the Public Theater’s immersive musical hit Here Lies Love, are reuniting at the downtown theatre this winter for the world premiere of Joan of Arc: Into the Fire. The rock musical concert was previously titled Saint Joan.

The new show will explore the rise of 15th century heroine Joan of Arc, who was burned at the stake and later found innocent. It is billed by the Public as “thrilling and provocative,” and about “challenging the powerful and believing in the impossible.”

The show is written by Oscar and Grammy winner Byrne; Golden Globe winner Timbers directs. The duo previously collaborated on Here Lies Love, a rock musical about the life of the former First Lady of the Philippines, Imelda Marcos.

Tickets to Joan of Arc: Into the Fire will go on sale to Premium Members and Partners December 13 and Members December 15. Visit PublicTheater.org.
