News David Drake and Ryan Landry Will Bring Charles Busch's The Divine Sister to Provincetown Charles Busch's Off-Broadway comedy The Divine Sister will spread the good word this summer at the Provincetown Theater, with original Off-Broadway cast member, Obie Award winner David Drake.

Drake (The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me) will direct and also appear in the comedy spoof that will open July 12 for a run through Sept. 8 in Provincetown, MA.

Award-winning Boston performer and playwright Ryan Landry will star as Mother Superior alongside Drake, Grace Carney, Olive Another, Sallie Tighe and Aaron Tone.

"The Divine Sister is an inspired homage to every Hollywood film ever made about nuns. Set in Pittsburgh, circa 1966, this gleefully twisted tale tells the story of an indomitable Mother Superior valiantly trying to save her beloved (and cash-strapped) St. Veronica's School and convent, while coping with a young postulant experiencing 'heavenly visions,' fending off a former suitor intent on luring her away from her vows, and navigating the maneuvers of mysterious nun visiting from Berlin," according to the Provincetown Theater.

Sets and costumes will be designed by Scott Martino, with lighting design by Jim Byrne and wig design by Bobby Miller.

Tony-nominated playwright Busch originated the role of Mother Superior in the acclaimed Off-Broadway run of The Divine Sister, which played for 253 performances at the Soho Playhouse. For tickets, phone (508) 487-7487, or visit provincetowntheater.org.
