King David, the new musical by Pepe Cibrian and Angel Mahler, debuted at Buenos Aires' Teatro El Liceo, Apr. 2. The musical is inspired by the King of Israel between 1010 and 970 BC, a symbol of the Jewish culture. King David features 24 actors that portray the 7 characters of the play. Directed by Pepe Cibrian Campoy himself, this is another step in his long list of musical productions, after the highly acclaimed Dracula.
The show is sponsored by AMIA, the Jewish association that suffered a bomb attack some years ago. It is not to be confused with the Disney concert which was on Broadway for a brief stint in 1997, composed by Alan Menken.
