Performances under the direction of Rebecca Taichman will play Sept. 8-Oct. 17. Official opening is scheduled for Sept. 23 at 7 PM.

Orlando, adapted by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Tony Award nominee Ruhl from the work of Virginia Woolf, will also feature Annika Boras (Sasha), Gibson Frazier (Marmaduke), David Greenspan (Queen Elizabeth), Tom Nelis (Sea Captain) and Howard Overshown (Othello). Choreography is by Annie-B Parson.

Here's how CSC bills the work: "Meet Virginia Woolf's Orlando, your typical Elizabethan Man: a favorite of the Queen, madly in love with a Russian Princess, fleeing an Archduchess and waking up one fine day in Constantinople to find he has become, of all things, a woman. She survives the 19th and 20th Centuries grappling with what it means to live fully in the present, in our own skin, in our own gender, and in our own time."

The creative team for Orlando includes set design by Allen Moyer, costumes by Anita Yavich, lighting by Christopher Akerlind, and original music and sound design by Christian Frederickson and Ryan Rumery.

Ruhl's plays include In the Next Room (or the vibrator play), Tony-nominated in 2010 for Best Play; The Clean House (Pulitzer Prize finalist, 2005; Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, 2004); Passion Play, a cycle (Pen American Award, Fourth Freedom Forum Playwriting Award from the Kennedy Center); Dead Man's Cell Phone (Helen Hayes Award for Best New Play); Melancholy Play; Demeter in the City (nine NAACP Image Award nominations); Eurydice; Orlando; and Late: a cowboy song. Orlando will perform Tuesdays through Fridays at 8 PM; Saturdays at 2 PM and 8 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Tickets are $60 for weekday performances and $65 for weekends.
