News David Greig's The Events to Tour U.K Prior to London Return; U.S. Dates to Follow David Greig's The Events, which originally premiered at the Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre as part of last year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival, is to embark on a U.K tour beginning March 18 at Brighton's Corn Exchange, before returning to the Young Vic for a run from July 10 to Aug. 2.

It will then tour to the US, where it will run at Yale Repertory Theater Arts and Ideas Festival in New Haven, CT, the Wexner Center in Columbus, OH, and the Harold Prince Studio at the Annenberg Center in Philadelphia, PA.

Co-produced by Actors Touring Company with the Young Vic Theatre and the Brageteatret & Schauspielhaus Wien, it is directed by Ramin Gray, artistic director of ATC.

Featuring live performances from local choirs each night, the play explores the impact of a harrowing politically motivated crime on a small community and asks how far forgiveness can stretch in the face of brutality.

Greig's is currently represented in London by the book for the musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Other recent plays include Midsummer, Dunsinane, The Monster in the Hall and The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart. Future projects include the screenplay for "A Complicated Kindness" (for Film Four, directed by Sarah Gavron), commissions for the Royal Court and National Theatre of Scotland, and a new adaptation of Becket for Broadway.
