Held at The Appel Room at the Jazz at Lincoln Center's Fredrick P. Rose Hall, the event is conceived and directed by Richard Maltby, Jr.

The evening features appearances by Boyd Gaines (The Columnist), Heather MacRae (Hair), Cynthia Nixon (Rabbit Hole), Jack O'Brien, David Hyde Pierce (Accent on Youth), Tracie Thoms (Rent) and Blythe Danner (The Country House).

Sullivan has directed nine productions — more than any other director — at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, where The Country House is currently in performances. His other MTC credits include The Snow Geese, The Columnist, Good People, Time Stands Still, Accent on Youth, Rabbit Hole, After The Night and the Music, Brooklyn Boy and Sight Unseen. His commercial Broadway productions include Orphans, Glengarry Glen Ross, The Merchant of Venice, The Homecoming, Prelude to a Kiss, Julius Caesar, I'm Not Rappaport, Morning's at Seven, The Sisters Rosensweig and The Heidi Chronicles.

The creative team includes John Lee Beatty, Japhy Weideman and Dan Gerhard.

Fiona Kirk, Bethany Millard, Sue Slager, Sharon Sullivan and Lisa Towbin are co-chairs of the event.

All proceeds from the event support MTC's mission as a non-profit theatre company producing contemporary plays on and Off-Broadway, nurturing new talent through its Artistic Development Program and developing the next generation of theatregoers and theatre makers through its Education Program.
