PlayBlog David Hyde Pierce, the Sundance Kid Curtains Tony winner and "Frasier" Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce is spending the week at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah launching his first starring feature film, "The Perfect Host."

Newcomer Nick Tomnay wrote and directed the film, which Hyde Pierce describes as "a wonderful little indie, very dark, sort of a thriller kind of comedy." Co-stars include Clayne Crawford and — surprise, surprise — Helen Reddy.

The plot swirls around a criminal-on-the-lam who cons his way into the wrong dinner party where the host is anything but ordinary (Hyde Pierce, of course).
