David Osmond to Wear Dreamcoat for Pittsburgh CLO

News   David Osmond to Wear Dreamcoat for Pittsburgh CLO David Osmond will return to the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera to star in the title role of the Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Osmond, who portrayed the biblical figure in the 1998 CLO staging of Joseph and understudied his uncle Donny Osmond in the national tour of the musical, reprises his performance for the summer staging that runs May 26-June 7.

The recent "American Idol" contestant joins a cast that includes Wicked's Shoshana Bean as the Narrator, Peter Matthew Smith (Cry-Baby, Hairspray) as the Pharoah/Levi and Gene A. Saraceni as Jacob.

Joseph will also feature Callan Bergmann, Sae La Chin, Tracy Groth, Elisa Halma, Jamie Markovich, Gabrielle McClinton, Natalie Newman, Ahmad Simmons, Jason Sparks, Lauren Sprague and Kathryn Lin Terza and Cody Williams.

Richard Stafford (Broadway's In My Life) directs the production that will have musical direction by Craig Barna.
