Canadian tenor David Pomeroy will make his Met debut singing the title role in Offenbach's Les Contes d'Hoffmann at the Dec. 30 performance, stepping in for an ailing Joseph Calleja.

The new production of Les Contes d'Hoffmann, directed by Bartlett Sher, also features Kathleen Kim as Olympia, Anna Netrebko as Antonia, Ekaterina Gubanova as Giulietta, Kate Lindsey as Nicklausse/The Muse, and Alan Held as the four villains. John Keenan conducts.

Calleja is expected to return for the final performance on Jan. 2.
