News Davis and King to Inhabit Shinn's Dying City for Hartford Stage Diane Davis and Ryan King will head the cast of the Hartford Stage production of Christopher Shinn's Dying City, which will kick off the New Year at the Connecticut theatre.

Maxwell Williams will direct Davis (Old Acquaintance, Festen) and King (Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow) in the two-hander that will run Jan. 8-Feb. 8, 2009.

Hartford describes the play as such: "Peter shows up unannounced at the apartment of Kelly, his twin brother Craig's wife, meeting for the first time since Craig was killed in Iraq. A quiet, penetrating tale of loss and grief set in the shadow of post-9/11 New York."

Creative duties for Dying City will be announced shortly.

Williams will also stage Shinn's Now or Later for Hartford Stage's Brand:NEW festival of fresh works for the stage, which begins Nov. 6.

Shinn's plays include Where Do We Live at the Vineyard Theatre (Obie Award for Playwriting), Four at Manhattan Theatre Club, What Didn't Happen and On the Mountain at Playwrights Horizons, The Coming World and Other People.
