Washington, DC's John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will celebrate the end of the millennium a little early in 1999 with a production of the Reduced Shakespeare Company's The Complete Millennium Musical (Abridged), beginning previews June 1. Opening night is June 5 for a run through July 25 at the Center's Terrace Theatre.
The Reduced Shakespeare Company (writers Reed Martin, Austin Tichenor and Matthew Croke) who have twisted The Complete Works of Shakespeare, The Complete History of America and The Bible: The Complete Word of God , now turn their attention to the most famous events, people and discoveries of the last 1000 years in their first musical-comedy. Millennium Musical received its world premiere Oct. 21, 1998 at the American Stage Festival in Nashua, NH.
Performing DC's Musical will be Martin and Tichenor with newcomer Dee Ryan.
