SEATTLE -- San Francisco performer Billy De Hererra, currently winning raves from Seattle audiences and critics in the hit parody revue Dirty Little Showtunes at Re-bar, goes solo at the same venue every Monday in May with his solo drag cabaret show Vanity Case.
Ms. Vanity Case is described by De Herrera as "A siren, songstress and self- styled superstar...constantly searching for the perfect song, the right hair- do, that elusive outfit, and the man that got away."
Each show will also showcase De Herrera's flair for impersonations (he does his own vocals), and skills as a costumer. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer said that De Herrera's DLST! turn was "Stunning... a cross between Dolly Parton and Mae West.", while the Bay Area Reporter praised his "Phantasmagorical costumes...wonderful coming timing!"
Vanity Case plays Mondays May 4-25 at 8 PM. at Re-bar, 1114 Howell St. @ Boren. Audiences must be 21 or over, admitted only with valid photo I.D. For tickets ($8) call (206) 326-1003.
