News Dear Edwina to Return to DR2 Kids Theatre in December Dear Edwina, the kid-friendly musical comedy penned by Zina Goldrich and Marcy Heisler that ended an extended engagement at Off-Broadway's DR2 Kids Theatre in April, will return there this winter.

Producer Daryl Roth announced that Edwina will resume performances Dec. 11 and continue through Feb. 15, 2010.

In a statement Roth said, "We're thrilled that Dear Edwina will come 'home for the holidays' to the DR2 Kids Theatre, and we hope that those who missed it earlier will catch the show now. Of course, we'd love to see fans of last season's production in the audience again, too! We have such fun hosting parties at our theatre. Whether a holiday party or a birthday party, it's a great way to share Dear Edwina with friends and family."

Dear Edwina features music by Goldrich and book and lyrics by Heisler. The musical, according to press notes, concerns 13-year-old heroine, Edwina Spoonapple, who "decides that she and her pals will [put on a show]. Edwina's special talent is giving advice, and she would do almost anything to be a part of the Kalamazoo Advice-a-palooza Festival. When a talent scout visits her hometown of Paw Paw, Michigan, Edwina — assisted by a host of quirky friends and neighbors — enthusiastically sings out her musical advice in hopes of finding her own special place in the spotlight. Together Edwina and chums set out to tackle a plethora of problems, in numbers about everything from birthday party etiquette to the proper way to set a table."

Casting will be announced at a later date.

Tickets, priced $39, are available at DearEdwina.com or by calling (212) 239-6200. Tickets may also be purchased at the DR2 box office, 103 East 15th Street. *
