Dear Evan Hansen has announced via Twitter that Standing Room Only tickets (SRO) will now be purchased through the show’s online digital lottery: DearEvanHansenLottery.com. This means that theatregoers will no longer have to wait in line at the Music Box Theatre to be in the running to purchase the $42-priced tickets.
In Playbill’s most recent survey, Dear Evan Hansen fans were lining up as early as 4:30 PM the day prior to the performance to secure SRO tickets.
Now, a limited number of SRO tickets—with locations at the back or side of the orchestra section—will be made available through the digital lottery per performance. Entering in the lottery will put theatregoers in the running for both SRO and regular digital lottery tickets—with seats located in the orchestra, mezzanine, or boxes of the theatre. Wheelchair accessible seats are available depending on the performance.
The number of lottery tickets made available will vary per performance. Available performances will be posted by 12:01 AM ET online; the matinee lotteries close at 9 AM, and evening lotteries close at 2 PM. Winners will be notified via the email submitted and will need to pick up their tickets at the theatre. For more information, click here.
