Tony Award winner Rachel Bay Jones has been cast in the CBS pilot God Friended Me, according to Variety. The Dear Evan Hansen star will guest on the pilot and return in a recurring role if the series is picked up.

Led by Brandon Michael Hall as Miles, the cast also includes Violett Beanae, Suraj Sharma, Javicia Leslie, Flor De Liz Perez, Tara Pacheco, and Tony nominee Joe Morton.

Jones originated the role of Evan's mom Heidi in the Dear Evan Hansen out-of-town tryout in Washington, D.C., as well as Off-Broadway at Second Stage prior to its Broadway transfer.
