Choreographer Debbie Allen and film actress and National Dance Week spokesperson Shirley MacLaine will close Dance Week festivities April 30 at the California Plaza in Los Angeles.
Featured performers at the free event are Joe Tremaine Dancers, Jazz Tap Ensemble, Lula Washington Company, Inland Pacific Ballet, L.A. Laker Cheerleaders, Carousel Dancers, Bradley Rapier and others. The Dance Week "wrap up" begins at noon.

Allen choreographed this year's Academy Awards, along with many others, as well as the cult Broadway flop, Carrie. She won a 1980 Tony Award as best featured actress in the revival of West Side Story, played Charity in the 1986 revival of Sweet Charity and roles in Guys and Dolls and Purlie.
MacLaine first came to fame when, as a chorus member on the original production of The Pajama Game, she replaced an injured Carol Haney. Among her duties? Dancing the Bob Fosse-d "Steam Heat."
