Classic Arts News Deborah Voigt, Dawn Upshaw to Appear at Arts & Leisure Weekend Composer Osvaldo Golijov, jazz pianist and singer Harry Connick Jr., and sopranos Deborah Voigt and Dawn Upshaw are among the artists scheduled to appear as part of the New York Times' Arts & Leisure Weekend next month.
The series, which runs January 6-8 at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, features conversations between Times writers and a variety of artists and performers, including actors, writers, musicians, and filmmakers.

On January 6 at 8 p.m., music critic Anthony Tommasini will interview Voigt; Patricia Cohen will talk with Connick on January 7 at 10 a.m.

Golijov and Upshaw, both in town for Lincoln Center's festival of Golijov's music, will be seen in discussion with critic Ann Midgette on January 8 at 4 p.m.

Also on the schedule are talks with Audra McDonald, the classical soprano and Broadway star, and Frank Gehry, the architect who designed Los Angeles's Walt Disney Hall and the Richard B. Fisher Center at Bard College.
