Debra Monk, Tom Aldredge, Polly Holliday and Olek Krupa will officially open in The Time of the Cuckoo on Feb. 21, after previews from Jan. 27. The Lincoln Center Theater revival of the 1952 Arthur Laurents play plays at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater.

Cuckoo looks at the romances of two Americans in Venice. One story has a young painter cheating on his wife with his landlady, while another plotline follows an unmarried American woman's relationship with a Venetian merchant.

Krupa will play the love interest to Monk's Yankee. Monk was last seen at Lincoln Center Theater in the revival of O'Neill's Ah, Wilderness!. Some of her most prominent roles from over the years have been Assassins, Steel Pier, Death Defying Acts, Pumpboys and Dinettes (which she co-authored) and Redwood Curtain (Tony Award).

Krupa's New York stage credits include The Resistible Rise of Arturo VI at CSC Repertory, A Bright Room Called Day and American Notes at the Public Theater, Ubu at the Lincoln Center Theater, Division Street at the Second Stage.

Stage vet Aldredge's countless credits include Broadway's Passion, Into the Woods, 1776, Where's Charlie? and The Little Foxes; and, Off-Broadway, La Terasse, The Last Yankee and Incommunicado. Holliday recently appeared in the Off-Broadway revival of John Guare's Marco Polo Sings a Solo.

Also in the cast, directed by Nicholas Martin, are Chiara Mangiameli, Cigdem Onat, Paolo Pagliacolo, Ana Reeder, Adam Trese and Sebastian Uriarte.

The original production opened at the Empire Theatre on Oct. 15, 1952 and ran for 263 performances. Harold Clurman directed a cast led by Shirley Booth, who won a Tony Award for her performance. The subsequent movie, retitled "Summertime," starred Katherine Hepburn and Rosanno Brazzi, and was directed by David Lean.

Laurents' other works include Home of the Brave, Jolson Sings Again (recently at NJ's George Street Playhouse), and the books for Gypsy and West Side Story.
