Classic Arts News Defunct Milwaukee Chamber Orchestra to Be Revived The Milwaukee Chamber Orchestra is being relaunched following a blackout during the 2005-06 season, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Richard Hynson, leader of Wisconsin's Bel Canto Chorus, has been named music director.
The MCO canceled a May 2005 concert, then simply never announced a 2005-06 season. According to the Journal Sentinel, the closure was caused by budget and labor troubles.

The MCO is negotiating a return to Wisconsin Lutheran College, where it became the resident campus orchestra in 1996, pending its ability to pay the college $5,000 in outstanding fees for previous hall rentals.

The board hopes that the orchestra will begin performing again in the fall, leading to a full season in 2007-08.
