Actress-comedienne-singer Lea DeLaria returns to Joe's Pub, which has played host to her talents many times before. She will begin what is being called an "unprecedented" four-week run on Oct. 25. Her visit was originally advertised as a three-week affair. Her last performance will be on Nov. 18. She will sing numbers from her recent jazz-flavored CD, "Play It Cool." DeLaria recently starred in the Broadway production of The Rocky Horror Show (which will return to Broadway Oct. 30 without her). She first came to the theatre world's attention as the brassy cab driver Hildy in the Central Park and Broadway's stagings of the musical On the Town. Since then, she has appeared in Paul Rudnick's The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told Off-Broadway and at the Williamstown Theatre Festival.
DeLaria will give shows on 8 PM and 10 PM. Tickets are $25, $30 at the door. Joe's Pub is located off the Public Theatre in Manhattan at 425 Lafayette St. For information, call (212) 239-6200.
