News Denver Center Has Movin' Out, Hairspray and Gracie; Will La Mancha Tour? Denver Center Attractions has announced its 2004 season of national tours, including a fall visit by Man of La Mancha, though details about that staging have not been announced by the producers.

Randy Weeks, who books shows at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, said he announced the show based on the best information he had — and on the hope that Brian Stokes Mitchell might play the title role, as he did on Broadway in 2002-03. But Weeks was told after he went to press with brochures that details were not completely together for a tour of the musical version of the Cervantes classic, "Don Quixote." Dates announced are Sept. 21-Oct. 3. Weeks remains hopeful La Mancha will gallop across North America and into Colorado in 2004. The 2004 musical subscription series will include visits by Hairspray (March 24-April 11 at the Buell), Movin' Out (May 25-June 6 at the Buell), Say Goodnight, Gracie (at the intimate Stage Theatre, a space usually used by Denver Center Theatre Company, in June), Starlight Express (Aug. 10-22 at the Buell), Radio City Christmas Spectacular (Nov. 26, 2004 -Jan. 2, 2005) and an unusual new Chinese martial-arts theatrical musical experience called Terracotta Warriors (July 6-18 at the Buell, following engagements in Canada). One additional show will also be announced.

For subscription information, call (303) 893-4100 or (800) 641-1222, or visit the ticket office at 14th and Curtis streets, or visit www.denvercenter.org/bwaysubs. Single tickets are not available at this time.
