News Desi Oakley, Jenna Leigh Green, Michael McCorry Rose and More Will Stage A Musical Revolution in Vox Pop Songwriter David Davila will make his 54 Below debut Nov. 18 when he debuts songs from his upcoming musical Vox Pop: A Musical Revolution.

Directed by Jay Levy with musical direction by Jeremy Robin Lyons, the 9:30 PM concert will feature performances from Michael McCorry Rose (Wicked), Daniel Quadrino (Newsies), Desi Oakley (Evita), Jenna Leigh Green (Wicked), Jaime Cepero ("Smash"), Charles Barksdale (Sister Act), Mariela Flor Olivo, Jose Sepulveda, Vanessa Theus, Lindsay Hicks, Michelle Caniglia, Darryl Williams, Michael Muenchow and Brendan Daugherty, among others.

According to press notes, "In a dystopian future where bees are extinct and humans slaves must pollinate the crops, a young slave girl must choose to accept her circumstances or join the revolution to overturn her oppressive government. But when she suddenly becomes the key to an ancient religion's 'Vox Pop' prophecy, the lines between good and evil, truth and lies blur as endless war becomes the only way to ensure every person's voice is heard."

The musical features the songs "Be The Change," "Closer," "Normal Heart," "All Good Things," "Propaganda," "The Voice of the People" and others. It has a book, music and lyrics by Davila and is based on a story developed by Davila and Mark Andrew Garner.

Davila's work has been seen at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, the Triad, the Underground, The West End Lounge and the Intar Theatre.
