News Designers Korins, Eisenhauer, O'Donnell and Morgan Will Talk Craft at Drama Desk Panel Theatrical designers will be in the spotlight for a Jan. 31 panel discussion, "The Talent Behind the Scenes," presented by The Drama Desk in Manhattan.

Signature Theatre Company's artistic director James Houghton will moderate a discussion to include lighting designer Peggy Eisenhauer (The Ritz, Assassins), set designers David Korins (Bridge & Tunnel, Passing Strange) and James Morgan (artistic director of York Theatre Company) and costume designer Mimi O'Donnell (MTC's Where's My Money?, LABrynth Theatre's In Arabia We'd All Be Kings).

This is the Drama Desk's "first special panel of the new year," meant to feature "some of New York theatre's leading behind-the-scenes creative talents." The event will be held 5:30-7:30 PM Jan. 31 at BMI, 320 West 57th Street, 3rd Floor.

The event is produced by Drama Desk members Elyse Sommer and Ellis Nassour. Light refreshments will be served at 5:30 PM. The panel will begin at 6 PM followed by a member Q and A. Admission is free, and members wishing to attend should RSVP to [email protected].

Limited space is available to non-members, who should inquire at the same RSVP address.

* The Drama Desk, organized in 1949, presented its first awards in 1955. It is the only theatre organization whose awards are competitive equally in the same categories for Broadway, Off-Broadway, Off-Off Broadway and not-for-profit theatre productions.
