News Desire Under the Elms, Starring Amy Brenneman, Plays in Radio-Theatre Series in L.A., June 18-22 Amy Brenneman ("Judging Amy") stars in the L.A. Theatre Works radio-theatre presentation of Eugene O'Neill's Desire Under the Elms, June 18-22.

The staging is part of the California venue's "The Play's The Thing" radio theatre series will perform at The Skirball Cultural Center.

Joining Brenneman, who portrays Abbie Putnam, in the production of Desire Under the Elms will be Orson Bean (Ephraim Cabot), Raphael Sbarge (Eben Cabot), Dwier Brown (Simeon Cabot) and Maurice Chasse (Peter Cabot).

Desire Under the Elms tells the tale of the Cabot family, which is broken apart when the father brings his new young bride. Two sons flee the home, while the remaining son is left to ensure their claim to the farm. The original Broadway production debuted in 1924.

Brenneman, known for such screen work as "Bye Bye, Love," "Heat," "Your Friends & Neighbors," and television's "Judging Amy," has performed Off-Broadway in God's Heart and The Learned Ladies. Other stage credits include Sincerity Forever, Interstates, St. Joan of the Stockyards and Three Sisters.

L.A.T.W.'s "The Play's The Thing" series is performed live at the Skirball Cultural Center. All performances are recorded for future broadcast on KPCC 89.3 FM, Southern California Public Radio. The two-hour radio broadcasts include special backstage features and interviews with actors, playwrights, and directors. "The Play’s The Thing" also airs on Seattle's KUOW 94.9 FM, Berkeley's KPFA 94.7 FM and nationally over NPR stations and XM Satellite radio.
