Sari Ketter stages the drama adapted from Frank's diary by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett. The original 1956 Broadway production of Anne Frank earned both the Tony Award for Best Play and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
Anne Frank documented her life within her diary as her family and four others hid for over two years in a small flat hidden behind a bookcase in an Amsterdam warehouse. Always optimistic despite the circumstances she faced, Frank's words live on with translations in some 60 languages and over 25 million copies of her diary sold throughout the world.
The creative team for the Intiman production includes Nayna Ramey (set design), Frances Kenny (costume design), Marcus Dilliard (lighting design) and Chris Walker (sound design).
DeVito, the daughter of actor Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman, has appeared on screen in "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," "The Good Night," "This Revolution" and the upcoming film "A Quiet Little Marriage." Tickets for The Diary of Anne Frank at the Intiman Playhouse, 201 Mercer Street at Seattle Center, are available by visiting www.intiman.org or by calling (206) 269-1900.
