Barry and Fran Weissler, the Tony Award-winning producers of the hit Broadway revival of Chicago, who also brought the Kander and Ebb musical The Scottsboro Boys to Broadway in 2011, are said to be interested in Paulus' vision for Pippin, which will include the work of Gypsy Snider of the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main.

According to the Times, the veteran producers are working out the details of their support for Pippin's A.R.T. debut: A July 30-Aug. 19 developmental workshop in Cambridge, MA, will precede an official production, which is scheduled to begin Dec. 1. Pippin will officially open Dec. 19 for a run through Jan. 20, 2013.

Last season, Paulus' production of The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess received support from Tony-winning Broadway producers Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel, when it premiered at A.R.T. prior to its Tony-winning Broadway debut.
