News Dino, Sammy and Frank Return Earth in Heaven Help Us! The Swingin' New Rat Pack Musical A world of babes, banter, buddies, booze and butts — as in cigarettes — will be conjured this summer with the world premiere of Heaven Help Us! The Swingin' New Rat Pack Musical, June 22-Sept. 5 at Florida Stage.

The musical resurrects crooners Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Frank Sinatra, who are sent back to Earth (in new bodies, apparently) to correct a 30-year-old white lie.

The musical is created by writer-director Ray Roderick, writer James Hindman, and musical director-arranger John Glaudini, the men who developed I Love a Piano, the conceptual revue of Irving Berlin songs that has played Denver and South Florida (and has hopes for a future tour).

Tickets for the Florida Stage run of Heaven Help Us! in Manalapan, FL, go on sale May 1. The show presumably borrows songs the trio performed in their famous Las Vegas concert turns.

According to the announcement of the show, "It's heaven on earth in Vegas as Frank, Dino and Sammy get sent back to correct a 30-year-old white lie — and God only knows if they'll recognize each other in time to save their souls. 'It's a Wonderful Life' meets 'Ocean's Eleven' in this world premiere musical from the team that brought you I Love a Piano, Heaven Help Us! is guaranteed to leave you singing and savoring the days of high balls and high rollers."

Director Roderick staged the post-Broadway non-Equity national tour of The Music Man, Off-Broadway's The Prince and the Pauper and Denver's long running I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. Casting has yet to be announced. For information, visit www.floridastage.com.

A two-act musical play, Direct From Vegas: The Rat Pack, made an appearance in Canada in January, recreating the banter and music of the trio of Vegas performers. A separate show called The Rat Pack Is Back! has played rooms in Las Vegas.
