As previously reported, the March 27 performance at the New Victory Theater will feature Sting and wife Trudie Styler portraying, respectively, Robert and Clara Schumann in John Caird's play Twin Spirits. The reading, which will also be directed by Caird, will feature Pryce as the narrator.
The one-night-only event will also boast performances by violinist Joshua Bell, soprano Barbara Bonney, baritone Thomas Meglioranza, cellist Alisa Weilerstein and pianists Jeremy Denk and Natasha Paremski.
Twin Spirits, according to the Broadway Cares website, will feature the “words, music, and shared passions of the extraordinary composers and lovers Robert and Clara Schumann.”
Jonathan Pryce won Tony Awards for his performances in Miss Saigon and Comedians and has also appeared on Broadway in Accidental Death of an Anarchist. He received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for his performance in "Barbarians at the Gate" and was also seen in the film of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Evita" as well as the Cole Porter biopic "De-Lovely."
