Dirty Rotten Scoundrels to Launch U.K. Tour | Playbill

News Dirty Rotten Scoundrels to Launch U.K. Tour Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, currently running at the West End's Savoy Theatre, where it is booking through March 7, 2015, is to launch a U.K. national tour that will begin performances at Birmingham's New Alexandra Theatre May 5 for a run through May 16, prior to an extensive tour.

Based on the 1988 film of the same name that starred Michael Caine and Steve Martin, the musical premiered on Broadway in 2005. It features music and lyrics by David Yazbek and book by Jeffrey Lane. The tour is being produced by Ambassador Theatre Group and Jerry Mitchell Productions. In a press statement, Mitchell, who has also directed and choreographed the production, commented, "I am thrilled that Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, our very first show from Jerry Mitchell Productions, will be taking to the road in the UK. I have no doubt that every city we visit will take this hilarious show to their hearts and will laugh and enjoy this musical as much as a quarter of a million people who have already seen it so far have done."
