Walt Disney Animation Studios has stopped development of Gigantic, its musical adaptation of the Jack and the Beanstalk fairy tale, Variety reports. The animated film, set to have music by Oscar-winning Frozen songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, was to be released in 2020.

Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios President Ed Catmull told Variety that the decision to halt the project was a “difficult one,” but that ultimately, “It just isn’t working.” He also revealed that Disney is working on another, untitled animated film in its place, set for release next Thanksgiving.

Gigantic was to be directed by Nathan Greno (Tangled) and produced by Dorothy McKim. The story is set in Spain during the Age of Exploration and follows an adventure-seeker named Jack as he discovers a world of giants hidden within the clouds.
