If you can't get a ticket to Disney's The Lion King, consider the next best thing: having the office staff in charge of that show sing and dance for you. On July 26, the staff of Walt Disney Theatrical Productions performed in a cabaret to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, at Don't Tell Mama in Manhattan. The show, called "Who's Minding the Office," was such a success, the staff has decided to stage a second, command performance.
The cabaret will take place on Aug. 24, at 9:15 PM, again at Don't Tell Mama, 343 W. 46th St. in Manhattan. Tickets are $10 plus a two-drink minimum. For information, call (212) 757-0788.
According to Musical Director Jason Sirois, people were turned away at the door at the July 26 event. The cabaret featured a parody of "Someone Else's Story" from Chess, taking on the subject of the much-coveted Lion King house seats.
