Tony Award winner William Finn has composed songs for "The Adventures of Tom Thumb & Thumbelina," a new Disney animated video that will be released on Aug. 6. The two fairy-tale legends meet in this action-packed adventure, which features the voices of Elijah Wood as Tom Thumb and Jennifer Love Hewitt as Thumbelina. Peter Gallagher, recently on Broadway in the hit Noises Off revival, voices the conniving Mole King; other stars lending their voices to the new Disney work include Tony winner Bebe Neuwirth, Robert Guillaume, Emma Samms, Jon Stewart and recent Cabaret star Jane Leeves.

Finn, who earned his Tony Award for his Falsettos score, has contributed six new songs to the video. He also wrote tunes for the animated videos "The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars" and "The Brave Little Toaster to the Rescue." Finn's theatrical scores include In Trousers, March of the Falsettos, Falsettoland, Romance in Hard Times and A New Brain. For television, he provided the music and lyrics for the Ace Award-winning HBO cartoon "Ira Sleeps Over" and the score for "Pokey Little Puppy's First Christmas."

Written by Willard Carroll and directed by Glenn Chaika, "The Adventures of Tom Thumb & Thumbelina" will be available in both VHS and DVD formats. For more information, go to http://disney.go.com/DisneyVideos/.
