Dodger Endemol Theatrical Productions, Inc. has acquired the Eaves-Brooks Costume Company, Inc. The new company will be called Dodger Costumes, Ltd. and the Broadway Costume Rental, Inc.
In a statement, the Dodgers said they plan to maintain the operation as a costume shop and rental facility. They will also take over the Long Island City building located at 21-07 41st Avenue, next to the Silvercup Studios.
The Eaves Costume Company was founded in 1863 on East 12th Street, Manhattan. The Eaves-Brooks Costume Company emerged in 1981 when Eaves aquired the Brooks-Van Horn Costume Company. The new conglamoration then moved to the company's current home in Long Island City.
Dodger Endemol Theatricals is the joint enterprise of Broadway producers Dodger Productions (current: 1776, Titanic, and High Society) and European producers Endemol Theatre Productions (West End: Tommy, Chicago and West Side Story).
Michael David, Robin de Levita, Edward Strong and Sherman Warner are the managing directors of Dodger Endemol Theatricals. -- By Christine Ehren
