News Don Juan in Soho Begins Previews at London's Donmar Nov. 30 Rhys Ifans returns to London's Donmar Warehouse in the title role of Patrick Marber's Don Juan in Soho. Previews begin Nov. 30 with an official opening night on Dec. 6.

Marber's new play, directed by Donmar artsistic director Michael Grandage, relocates Molière's 17th-century classic to London's 21st-century Soho with its "swank, new hotels and festering, old clip joints, crackheads in alleys and cokeheads in clubs."

Marber's previous work includes Howard Katz (National Theatre), Dealer's Choice, Closer and After Miss Julie, which was also directed by Grandage at the Donmar and, like Don Juan in Soho, was also inspired by a classic (Strindberg's Miss Julie).

Ifans' previous performance at the Covent Garden 250-seat venue was in 2003 as The Maniac in Accidental Death of an Anarchist. Other stage credits include Volpone, Under Milk Wood and Beautiful Thing. On screen he starred in "Enduring Love" and "Notting Hill."

The creative team for Don Juan in Soho includes Frost/Nixon and Evita designer Christopher Oram.
