News Donkeys Fly and Lovers Fight in new Off-Broadway A Midsummer Night's Dream Flying donkeys, bitter fairies and bewilders lovers will collide in the Vital Theatre Company's midwinter production of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre from Jan. 6-28.

In association with Honkbark Productions, this revival of Shakespeare's fantastical comedy will combine an onstage oompah bang, a Puck more Andy Rooney than Mickey Rooney, and a lavender Lysander to whip up a distinctly winterish mayhem. Directed by fight choreographer John Ficarra, the production promises to include fighting, fumbling, fleeing, and trampolines in a flipside interpretation of the play.   The cast of 23 actors is led by Pickle Family Circus clown Sara Moore as Bottom, with Emmy award-winners Laura LeBleu as Titania and Todd Faulkner as Quince. The Fairy Band will be led by tuba player Sam Swartz, with original music by Dana Haynes described as "more Danny Elfman than Mendelsesohn."

Performances will take place Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 PM. and Sundays at 6 PM, with the exception of a 7 PM. performance on Saturday, Jan. 14.  All tickets are $15 and can be purchased by calling (212) 352-3101. The McGinn/Cazale Theatre is located at 2162 Broadway on the Fourth floor (at 76th Street).
