The full original cast of the Donmar production, comprising Matt Bardock, Jonathan Broadbent, Richard Cant, Julian Ovenden, Lewis Reeves and Geoffrey Streatfeild, will reprise their roles in the West End transfer. The production is directed by Robert Hastie, the Donmar's associate director.

The play won the 1995 Olivier Award for Best Comedy after its transfer from the Royal Court's Theatre Upstairs to the West End's Criterion Theatre in its original run. Set at Guy’s London flat, old friends and new gather to party through the night. This is the summer of 1985 and, for Guy and his circle, the world is about to change forever, thanks to the mounting AIDS crisis. According to press materials, the comedy captures the fragility of friendship, happiness and life itself.

Elyot's other stage plays include Coming Clean, Consent, The Moonstone, a new translation for the Royal Shakespeare Company of Ostrovsky's Artists and Dreamers, The Day I Stood Still, Mouth to Mouth and Forty Winks. His screenplays include "Killing Time," "No Night Is Too Long," six of Agatha Christie’s Marple novels as well as three of her Poirot novels for TV, "Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky," "Riot at the Rite," "Clapham Junction" and "Christopher and His Kind."

The production is designed by Peter McKintosh, with lighting by Paul Pyant and sound by Gregory Clarke. The West End transfer is produced by Arielle Tepper Madover and Eleanor Lloyd Productions in association with Nica Burns.
