The cast from the Donmar production, including Anna Chancellor, Tony winner Owen Teale and Tom Burke, reunite for the BAM run that will play through May 16 in the Harvey Theatre. An official opening has been set for April 20. Here's how BAM bills the play: "Anxiously awaiting the return of his new wife Tekla [played by Chancellor], who is away on a trip, artist Adolph [played by Burke] finds solace in the words of a stranger. But comfort soon turns to destruction as old wounds are opened, insecurities are laid bare, and former debts are settled. Despite its period setting, Creditors is a fiercely modern take on one of Strindberg's most explosive explorations of the battle between the sexes."
The design team includes Ben Stones (set design), Fotini Dimou (costume design), Hoaward Harrison (lighting design) and Adam Cork (composer and sound design).
Rickman has directed My Name is Rachel Corrie (Royal Court Playhouse and Minetta Lane Theater), The Winter Guest (West Yorkshire Playhouse and Almeida Theatre) and Live Wax (West End). He is best known for his screen appearances in "Alice in Wonderland," the "Harry Potter" series, "Sweeney Todd," "Nobel Son," "Perfume" and "Snowcake." Rickman earned a Tony nomination for Private Lives and has also appeared on stage recently in The Reading Room.
