"Duncan Mudge has just lost his mother and is grappling with the emotional vacuum and a despondent, grief-stricken father," according to press notes. "A small town in Vermont and its close-knit inhabitants weave in and out of his journey, creating a gripping portrait of family, loss, acceptance and what lies beneath in rural, adolescent America. The Mudge Boy addresses issues of teen and family violence, bullying and cruelty while deconstructing the voyage to identity faced by every teenager."
