Emmy Award winner Chad Lowe will star in the limited New York engagement of D.M.W. Greer's Burning Blue, which begins previews at the Samuel Beckett Theatre on Sept. 28.

Best known for his Emmy-winning turn on TV's "Life Goes On," Lowe will play Lt. Will Stephensen in this drama, which unfolds against the military's "Don't Ask/Don't Tell" policy. Directed by John Hickok, the official opening of Burning Blue is set for Oct. 16; the play will run through Dec. 15.

Lowe was most recently seen in the Richard Gere film "Unfaithful." His other screen credits include "Take Me Home: The John Denver Story," "Now and Again," "ER" and "Popular." As a director, Lowe helmed the short film "The Audition" and the recently completed "The Space Between"; both feature his Oscar-winning wife, Hillary Swank.

Burning Blue debuted in London in 1995 and subsequently played Los Angeles in 1998. A reading of the drama for 225 people was held at Off Broadway's Westside Theatre in Jan. 1999. While at the Samuel Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street), the drama will play Tuesday through Saturdays at 8 PM, Saturdays at 2 PM and Sundays at 5 PM.
