News Doubt's Shanley Curates LAByrinth's Obsession with Errico, Linn-Baker, Sills, More May 24 Doubt's 2005 Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright John Patrick Shanley will head up a LAByrinth Theater Company presentation called Obsession to feature Melissa Errico, Ron Cephas Jones, Mark Linn-Baker, Christopher Meloni, Orfeh, Portia, Douglas Sills and more.

LAB co-artistic directors Philip Seymour Hoffman and John Ortiz present the benefit evening, subtitled A Musical and Dramatic Exploration of a Really Dark Feeling, May 24 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

The 8 PM performance of Obsession will feature a cast that currently includes Paula Devicq, Jerry Dixon, Melissa Errico, Ron Cephas Jones, Mark Linn-Baker, Trevor Long, Maude Maggart, Christopher Meloni, Orfeh, Portia, Michael Puzzo, Douglas Sills, and Yul Vázquez with special guests to come.

Billed as "an original evening of music, theatre, and poetry," Obsession "sheds light on a dark topic we all think about...and think about...and think about," according to a release.

Shanley — himself a member of LAByrinth Theatre Company since 2000 — Has previously collaborated with the troupe on his plays Where’s My Money? and A Winter’s Party (both in 2001), Dirty Story (2003), and this season's Sailor’s Song (Fall 2004). He is currently nominated for a Tony Award for his Pulitzer Prize-winning play Doubt.
