Dove Cameron, who recently took center stage in Off-Broadway’s Clueless musical, will make her Los Angeles Opera debut in the company’s upcoming presentation of The Light in the Piazza. The stage and screen alum will play Clara Johnson, starring alongside previously announced Tony-nominated opera star Renée Fleming.

Performances will run October 12–20 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion as part of the company’s 2019–2020 season. Additional titles include the world premiere of Sarah Ruhl and Matthew Aucoin’s Eurydice, Roberto Devereux with LA Opera General Director Plácido Domingo, and the West Coast premiere of Du Yun’s Pulitzer-winning Angel’s Bone.

Cameron and Fleming will first sing the roles of Clara and Margaret Johnson, respectively, in the Adam Guettel and Craig Lucas musical at London’s Royal Festival Hall this June. Daniel Evans directs both presentations.
