The Grinch was previously seen on Broadway in 2006 and 2007 and made its Los Angeles debut in 2009. The MSG engagement, which began Dec. 13, is part of a holiday mini-tour that launched in Hartford, CT, Nov. 20.

The stage production, based on the original book written by Dr. Seuss, was conceived by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O' Brien. Book and lyrics are by Timothy Mason with music by Mel Marvin and additional music and lyrics by Albert Hague and Dr. Seuss.

Matt August directs the production, originally created by Tony-winning director O’Brien, which is choreographed by Bob Richard based on the original choreography by John DeLuca.

McCarthy (Side Show, Urinetown, The Pirate Queen) is joined by young actress Tori Feinstein ("30 Rock," "Sesame Street") and Abigail Shapiro, sharing the role of Cindy-Lou Who in a cast that also features Ken Land as Old Max, Gilbert L. Bailey II as Young Max, Paul Aguirre as Papa Who, Natalie Hill as Mama Who, Philip Hoffman as Grandpa Who, Rosemary Loar as Grandma Who, Danielle Megan Johnson and Zara Scott as Annie Who.

The ensemble includes William Bailey, Jamie Beth Barton, Alex Chester, Matt Densky, Anoinette DiPietropolo, Amy Griffin, Jamey Hood, Liesl Jaye, Dennis Kenney, Ivory McKay, Candice Nicole, Shane Rhoades, Anette Michelle Sanders, Jamison Stern, Lilly Tobin, Peyton Royal and Stefanie O'connell. The production featured new sets designed specifically for the Theatre at MSG.

Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical features the beloved songs "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" and "Welcome Christmas" from the original animated TV special. Max the Dog narrates, while the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is "two sizes too small," decides to steal Christmas away from holiday-loving Whos of Whoville.
