Kiki & Herb's fans include names like Sandra Bernhard, Kevin Costner and Gloria Steinem. This kooky cabaret couple bring their latest show to New York under the auspices of WestBeth Entertainment in association with Steven M. Levy.
Justin Bond and Kenny Mellman created Kiki & Herb in 1993 and have been embodying their respective alter-egos ever since in various shows. Coup de Théatre combines a book by Bond with musical direction by Mellman. The infamous duo make their way through a number of songs, occasionally taking the off ramp into the brash and boozy bio of the "septuagenarian" (as her press release states) Kiki. As she "drag"s us through those unforgettable moments, her shy straight man accompanist Herb tickles the ivories. The playlist includes a mix of tunes like Styx's "Come Sail Away" and Suede's "Big Time" and hits by Radiohead, Eminem and The Association.
The design team include Derek McLane (set), Jason Lyons (lighting), Marc Happel (costume) and Ken Travis (sound).
