Drake to Direct Keasey, Cunningham and Waite in Poor Super Man

News   Drake to Direct Keasey, Cunningham and Waite in Poor Super Man Provincetown's Art House Theater will present the New England premiere of Brad Fraser's Poor Super Man, which has been dubbed the "Play with Captions."

Obie Award winner David Drake, the playwright-actor-columnist best known for his one-man show The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me, will direct the production, which plays Oct. 23-Nov. 9.

The cast of Poor Super Man, which explores "the meaning of art, love and the unpredictable nature of sexuality," will be led by Spencer Keasey (aka erotic film actor Spencer Quest) as David and New York stage and television actor Scott Douglas Cunningham as Matt with Lacey A. Waite (Violet), Anne Stott (Kryla) and Darlene Van Alstyne (Shannon).

Poor Super Man, according to press notes, "tells the story of a successful Canadian painter experiencing a creative block who, in hopes of reinvigorating his artistic spirit, takes a job as a waiter at a fledgling diner in Calgary, owned by a newlywed couple."

The creative team also includes Rik Kapler (original scenic art), Janette Mason (original music), Stephen Carey (costume design) and Alfonso Suarez (captions design).
