News Dramatist Guild Launches New Publication, The Dramatist, Sept. 14 The Dramatist Guild will launch its new bimonthly magazine, The Dramatist, with a party Sept. 14, from 7-8 PM, at Applause Theatre and Cinema Books, 211 W. 71st Street in Manhattan. In attendance will be Guild president and librettist Peter Stone (Titanic), lyricist Susan Birkenhead (Triumph of Love), and playwrights Maria Irene Fornes (Abingdon Square), Arthur Kopit (High Society) and Romulus Linney (The Sorrows of Frederick).

The Dramatist Guild will launch its new bimonthly magazine, The Dramatist, with a party Sept. 14, from 7-8 PM, at Applause Theatre and Cinema Books, 211 W. 71st Street in Manhattan. In attendance will be Guild president and librettist Peter Stone (Titanic), lyricist Susan Birkenhead (Triumph of Love), and playwrights Maria Irene Fornes (Abingdon Square), Arthur Kopit (High Society) and Romulus Linney (The Sorrows of Frederick). The Dramatist will replace the Guild's former flagship publication, The Dramatists Guild Quarterly, and will differ from its predecessor it one vital aspect: It will be on sale to the public. The Dramatist's first issue is available on selected newstands and in bookstores across the nation.

The Dramatists Guilds is a professional organization of playwrights, lyricists and composers.
