News Dramatists Guild Presents DuoLogues with Playwrights Shaffer and Guare Oct. 14 The Dramatists Guild of America's DuoLogues seminar series continues Oct. 14 in the Guild's Frederick Loewe Room in Manhattan.

The 5:30 PM event features a conversation between award-winning playwrights John Guare and Peter Shaffer. Guare, according to press notes, "will guide the conversation, asking Peter Shaffer about the rigor, rewards and beauty of a life in the theatre."

Peter Shaffer is currently represented on Broadway with the revival of Equus. His other plays include Five Finger Exercise, The Royal Hunt of the Sun, Black Comedy, Amadeus, Lettice and Lovage, Gift of the Gorgon and Yonadab.

Guare's A Free Man of Color, directed by George C. Wolfe, will make its premiere this winter at the Public Theater. His other plays include House of Blue Leaves, Six Degrees of Separation, Landscape of the Body and Bosoms and Neglect.

The Frederick Loewe Room is located at 1501 Broadway, between 43rd and 44th Streets, Suite 710. The seminar is free to Dramatists Guild members (must present Guild membership card at the door), and $10 cash at the door to the general public, but reservations are required. To enter the building at 1501 Broadway, attendees will need to present a photo ID.
