Dratch will portray Sylvia, the "stray dog that turns the life of two New York empty-nesters upside down," according to a press release. She will be joined on stage by four-time Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines and his real-life wife Kathleen McNenny as well as Emmy-nominated comic actor Peter Scolari. Artistic director David Saint will helm the comedy, which is scheduled to run March 30-April 25 with an official opening April 2 at the New Jersey venue.

In a statement director Saint said, "I am thrilled to be directing this wonderful, funny and heartfelt comedy — particularly with these four talented comedic actors. This is a must-see for anyone who has ever cherished a four-footed friend as a member of their family.”

The creative team includes set designer James Youmans, costume designer David Murin and lighting designer Christopher J. Bailey.

In Sylvia, press notes state, "Greg and Kate have moved to Manhattan after 22 years of child-raising in the suburbs. Greg's career as a financial trader is winding down, while Kate's career, as a public-school English teacher, is beginning to offer her more opportunities. Greg brings home a dog he found in the park — or that has found him —b earing only 'Sylvia' on her name tag. A street-smart mutt, Sylvia becomes a major bone of contention between husband and wife. She offers Greg an escape from the frustrations of his job and the unknowns of middle age. To Kate, Sylvia becomes a rival for affection. And Sylvia thinks Kate just doesn't understand the relationship between man and dog. The marriage is put in serious jeopardy until, after a series of hilarious and touching complications, Greg and Kate learn to compromise, and Sylvia becomes a valued part of their lives."
